Who we are
Bloop is operated by Donghyun Ryu. In this policy, “Bloop,” “we,” and “us” refer to Bloop (operated by Donghyun Ryu). Questions about this policy can be sent to yoodong8@gmail.com.
Audio and visualizer processing
System audio and microphone signals are processed locally on your Mac to calculate level, frequency bands, energy, and beat timing for the visualizer. Bloop does not record or upload the captured audio. Microphone access is requested only if you select Microphone as the input.
Music information
If you enable Track Info, Bloop may read track details from Apple Music or Spotify. For supported browser playback, Bloop may use macOS Accessibility access to read browser window and tab titles. This information is processed locally to show what is playing and is not sent to Bloop.
Licensing and payments
Paid licenses are activated and validated through Lemon Squeezy. These requests can include your license key, your Mac’s local device name, and a license instance identifier. Bloop stores the license key, instance record, purchased feature grant, and verification details in the macOS Keychain. A generated installation identifier is also stored locally.
Lemon Squeezy is the Merchant of Record for Bloop purchases. It processes payment details, tax information, order information, and buyer contact information under its own privacy policy. Bloop does not receive or store your full payment-card details.
Website and support
The Bloop website uses Umami, a privacy-focused analytics service, to count page views and download-button clicks. Umami is cookieless: it stores nothing on your device and does not track you across sites or build a profile of you. It records only aggregate information such as page path, referrer, country, browser, and device type. The website uses no advertising trackers.
Its hosting provider may process ordinary request information such as IP address, browser type, requested URL, and timestamps for delivery, reliability, and security.
If you email support, we receive the address you write from and whatever details, attachments, or diagnostic information you choose to include. Please do not send a complete license key or unnecessary sensitive information by email.
Data retention and security
Local preferences remain on your Mac until you change them or remove the app’s data. License records remain until they are deactivated or removed. Support correspondence is retained only as reasonably needed to answer the request, maintain support history, prevent abuse, and meet legal obligations. Third-party providers apply their own retention periods.
Your choices and rights
You can decline optional microphone, Music automation, and Accessibility permissions in macOS. You can also deactivate a paid license on a Mac from Bloop’s License settings. To ask about access, correction, or deletion of information held directly by Bloop, email yoodong8@gmail.com. We may need to verify that the request belongs to you.
Third-party services
Bloop relies on Lemon Squeezy for checkout and license validation, Vercel for website hosting, Umami for website analytics, and Sparkle-compatible release hosting for software updates. Apple Music, Spotify, and browsers remain subject to their own terms and privacy practices. This policy covers only information handled by Bloop.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when Bloop’s features or providers change. The current version and effective date will remain available on this page.
