Let’s get Bloop moving.

Getting started
What do I need to run Bloop?
The current release requires macOS 15 or later. A Windows version is planned but is not available yet.
What should happen on the first launch?
Open Bloop, allow System Audio Recording when macOS asks, and start playing audio. The visual should begin responding as soon as sound reaches the system output.
Audio & permissions
Bloop is open, but it does not react to music.
Check that Bloop is allowed under System Settings → Privacy & Security → System Audio Recording. If you changed the permission, quit Bloop and open it again.
Does Bloop need Screen Recording permission?
No. Bloop captures system audio directly. Screen Recording permission is not required for the visualizer.
What happens when I change the output device?
Bloop reconnects when the system output changes. Give it a moment after switching speakers, headphones, or an audio interface.
Track Info
Which players can show track information?
Bloop can read track information from Apple Music and Spotify. It can also show the title of supported browser playback when browser detection is available.
Why does browser playback ask for Accessibility?
Bloop uses Accessibility access only to read browser window and tab titles, including a supported media tab playing in the background. It does not read page content. If you decline, Bloop waits before asking again; you can enable access later in System Settings.
Why are playback controls sometimes hidden?
Previous, play or pause, and next controls appear for controllable players such as Apple Music and Spotify. Browser playback is display-only, so those controls stay hidden.
Export
What can I add to an export?
Add one or more MP3 files, arrange them as a playlist, choose a skin, then set the frame, background, and intro or outro timing.
Which video sizes are available?
Bloop supports 16:9, 9:16, 1:1, and 3:4. Background image placement stays separate for each aspect ratio.
What happens if export fails or I cancel saving?
Your export draft and file list stay in place. Correct the issue and try again without rebuilding the playlist.
